Award shows are commonly a breeding ground for elaborate ensembles – but Scarlett Johansson brought it back to basics with an LBD.

The wide-strapped, knee length dress had just a small overlapping fold in the front as its only embellishment.

Keep it simple: Scarlett Johansson arrived at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica on Saturday wearing the simplest of black dresses
When you are the only woman in the world to be voted Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive twice, you don’t need to add much to your outfit either: Scarlett’s only accessories were her light grey shoes, matching clutch purse and plain diamond stud earrings.
The outfit matched the Avengers star’s new Miley Cyrus hairdo, as she swept her remaining blonde tresses to one side to expose the buzz cut underneath.
It isn’t Scarlett’s first visit to the award show – way back in 1996 when she was just 12-years-old, Johansson received her only Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Lead Female for Manny & Lo.

The figure-hugging gold sequinned mini-dress with a boat neck and long sleeves was designed by Ford himself.
Black and gold: Within 24 hours Scarlett had gone from glistening gold to classic black, both of which showed off her impressive post baby body
