Scarlett Johansson’s Back Tattoo For the New York premiere of “Asteroid City” in June 2023, Johansson wore back-baring dress that showed off her two back tattoos. Fans have speculated that her first design, which includes roses on a vine and extends across the top of her back, could be a tribute to her daughter, Rose. The first official glimpse we got of the new ink was in 2017. 
The second tattoo, located on her right shoulder blade underneath the roses, appears to be a lamb. Johansson has not shared the meaning behind the design. 
On display at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival was Johansson’s bracelet tattoo. The design appears to be a nod to the hammer of Thor, from the Marvel movie “Thor.” 
Scarlett Johansson’s Horseshoe Tattoo While on the red carpet for the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars party, Johansson offered a glimpse of the horseshoe tattoo located on her right ribcage. Around the design are the words “lucky you” with stars. 
On her left ribcage, Johansson sports another illustration of a rose — another possible nod to her daughter. Scarlett Johansson’s Sunrise Tattoo The only tattoo of hers to have color, Johansson has a depiction of a sunrise inside her left forearm. She’s never revealed the meaning of the design, but it features a sun coming up behind a body of water, surrounded by clouds. 
Scarlett Johansson’s Avengers Tattoo On the inside of her right upper arm, Johansson has an A in a circle, also known as the Avengers logo. The actor has been a part of the franchise since 2010, and her costar Robert Downey Jr. told Entertainment Weekly that she and four of the original Avengers actors all got matching designs. Scarlett Johansson’s Owl Tattoo On her lower-right ribcage, Johansson has an owl in flight, which was on display at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars party. Though this is another design that she’s never revealed the meaning behind, owls are said to represent wisdom and knowledge.
