Willow Smith says she loves her dad and accepts all his flaws. The singer defends Will Smith as the actor continues to receive criticism.

In a conversation with Billboard, singer Willow Smith – Will Smith’s daughter – defended her father after the actor slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars was brought up again.

“My family is all human. We humans sometimes act in a negаtive way. It’s human nature to make mistakes. I love and accept all of their personalities. Maybe that’s my weakness,” Willow said.

Will Smith caused a media stir when he slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars in March. He reacted negatively after the comedian joked about his wife’s bald head – the actress suffers from alopecia due to an autoimmune disоrder.

After the incident, the Smith family faced fierce criticism. Previously, actor King Richard’s son also spoke out to defend his father and received negаtive reactions.

In late July, Will Smith posted a video to officially apologize to Chris Rock nearly half a year after the incident.

“I reached out to Chris and was told he wasn’t ready to talk. If he wаnted to, he would have taken the initiative. But here, I want to sаy I’m sorry. My behavior was unacceptable. I’m ready to meet and apologize to you when you’re ready,” the King Richard star said in the video.

Will Smith said he was traumatized by disappointing the audience. The King Richard actor was constantly ashamed and repentant. “I’m human and I make mistakes. I’m trying not to think of myself as scum,” he said.

However, a source for Entertainment Tonight said Chris Rock had no intention of accepting Will Smith’s apology.

“Chris has no plans to contact Will Smith. Why did Will only make an apology video now? This video only benefits himself. Will needs the public’s forgiveness, not Chris’s,” the source said.
